Thursday, May 5th - Cinco de Mayo @ Old Town San Diego

Let's face it, Old Town is THE place to be for Cinco de Mayo in San Diego. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to indulge in some tasty Mexican food and margaritas. In fact, the three day Cinco de Mayo celebration extends Fri-Sunday with festivities such as live music, equestrian performances, ballet competitions, historical demonstrations, and much more! 

Thursday, May 5th - Cyclo de Mayo @ The Quartyard, 5:30pm

The San Diego Bike Coalition is putting on an event merging cycling with a Cince de Mayo celebration. Go for a short ride with other bike enthusiasts while celebrating after with food trucks, fresh pints, and fun in the Quartyard.

Thursday, May 5th - Satuday, May 7th - Kevin Nealon @ The American Comedy Co.

SNL alum, Kevin Nealon, is in town for a three-night special event! You won't want to miss out on this great comic at this intimate comedy club renowned for it's underground feel and setting.

Thursday, May 5th - Sunday, May 8th - San Diego Padres vs New York Mets @ Petco Park

The Friars take on the Mets in this four-game series in San Diego. Watch as Matt Kemp and the Padres look to climb back in the NL West standings against Yoenis Cespedes and the the second-place NL East Mets (as of May 4th) in one of the best ballparks in the league!

Friday, May 6th - Sunday, May 8th - Grunion Season in San Diego @ Pacific Beach Boardwalk

It is officially Grunion season in California. However, at this time, it is closed season for observation only. It's still worth it to take in the remarkable spawning behavor of these fish. During spring and summer months, Grunion leave the water at night to spawn along the beach. When it is open season, you can run along the beach during peak hours and catch Grunion by hand!

Friday, May 6th - Sunday, May 8th -  Romeo & Juliet: City Ballet of San Diego @ Spreckels Theatre

Check out this fresh take on Romeo and Juliet at Spreckels Theatre in Downtown SD. The 2012 premiere of this production received standing ovations after each performance. It's definitely worth checking out!

Friday, May 6th - Jim Breuer @ The Observatory North Park

You've seen him on Home Improvement, Saturday Night Live, alongside Dave Chappelle in Half-Baked, and various late-night show appearances. He's also been named one of the Top 100 Comedians of All-Time by Comedy Central. See him live and in person on Friday!

Saturday, May 7th - Paella & Wine Festival @ Waterfront Park

This festival is gaining some steam; this is the 2nd annual Paella and Wine Festival in San Diego. The headliner is the LARGEST paella made in California with unlimted tasting to feed more than 2,000 people. It gets better, dozens of local wineries, breweries, and tequilerias will be on site with UNLIMITED TASTING (for those with tickets including alcohol). We can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday.

Saturday, May 7th - CALDER CUP PLAYOFFS: Game 2 - San Diego Gulls vs Ontario Reign @ Valley View Casino Center

Playoff hockey in So Cal. The rivarly is real. Watch the San Diego Gulls (Anaheim Ducks NHL affiliate) take on the top seeded Ontario Reign (LA Kings NHL affiliate) for Game 2 of this best of 7 series.

Sunday, May 8th - Mother's Day Run @ Mission Bay, 7am

Why not begin Mother's Day in a fun and active way? The run begins at De Anza Cove and it benefits 60 homeless mothers and their children who are being cared for at the San Diego Rescue Mission.

Sunday, May 8th - Mother's Day Brunch Cruise @ Downtown San Diego

Go all out for mom and make it a Mother's Day to remember with a champagne brunch cruise. There are several companies who put these cruises on so you have options. Check out Flagship Cruises and Events and Hornblower Cruises

Sunday, May 8th - Eli Young Band @ House of Blues, San Diego, 7pm
